Gambia is a West African country with a population of 2 million, over 90% of whom are Muslims. FGBMFI was established in Gambia in the mid-80s by Nigeria. For over 10 years FGBMFI Gambia was inactive. The Ghana Airlift Team (GAT) embarked on an airlift to Gambia in October 2015 on a reconnaissance tour followed by a National Convention in November 2016. In October 2017 the second National Convention was held.
From September 6th to 8th, 2018, a third National Convention was successfully held by FGBMFI Gambia. The new President Said Usuf and his wife Dr Efua Usuf (a dynamic leader of the Ladies of The Fellowship) have been working very hard in recent times to bring great revival to the fellowship in Gambia despite the huge Muslim population.
